Jayco Tent Trailers
Jayco Inc. was founded by the late Lloyd J. Bontrager in 1968. He built his first tent trailer prototype on his farm in rural Indiana. From those humble beginnings, based in the small town of Middlebury, Jayco expanded to offer a wide range of RV's. As well as Jayco tent trailers, the company now develops and manufactures park and travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes. Jayco remains true to this day to the vision and ethos of its founder where everyone who works for the business are treated as family and together I believe they produce some of the best RVs on the road.
Jayco Tent trailers offer a superb way to enjoy the great outdoors in comfort and at great value for your dollar. Being light weight, they don't drain your gas tank and they are easy to manoeuvre being low in towing height. These folding camp trailers are extremely reliable, simple to use and easy to maintain year on year. For those camping enthusiasts out there, Jayco currently offer 4 models in this series ranging from the economy model the Jay Series Sport to the very popular deluxe models the Baja and the Jay Series Select. They are all built to a very high spec and include:
- A highly rated lifter system designed and patented by Jayco
- Rust resistant frame
- One piece construction entrance door
- Domed seamless fibreglass roof with lifetime warranty
- 1,050 pound rating on bunks
Jay Series Sport
The cheapest of the range, the Jay Series Sport comfortably sleeps up to 5 people. The bedding configuration consists of a rear full bed tent and a queen or twin tent bed ranging from 11 to just over 13 feet long. Standard equipment includes sinks, storage cabinets, 2-burner range, refrigerator, carry out stove, vinyl flooring wall to wall, booth dinette and many more features. This range is offered with two floor plans the 8 comes with full bed and twin bed, the 10 offers a full bed and queen bed. Jay Series
The Jay Series is the next level up from the sport and therefore is a little more expensive, it comes with a higher spec sleeping up to 8 people. There are six different floor plans and specs available as standard. Additional features include more storage, a J-SteelTM Sofa in some layouts and a furnace option. Some layouts also offer a bath/shower option with folding hard walls. With more living space and features, in my opinion, the Jay Series is great value.
Jay Series Select
The Jay Series Select also sleeps up to 8 people, but is even more spacious. More pricey than the Jay Series you are getting excellent internal features including a double bowl sink, 3-burner oven/stove, Multi Media Sound System, Concord Cherry cabinetry and loads more. So if your wallet stretches further I recommend you take a look at the 141J model floor plan and specs.
Baja
The Baja enjoys many of the features of the Jay Series Select but includes a hard-core Bike Port Deck holding up to 1,500 pounds. This model is for the intrepid explorer who likes to take loads of gear and equipment with him to explore the remotest terrain in comfort. Unloaded, this baby weighs 2,535 pounds and has a travel length of 20' 6" extending to 24' 2" campsite length. You will pay less for the Jayco Baja than the larger Jay Series Select but with the extra carrying capacity you can take plenty of toys with you! Please click here to find out more about this model.
